UPDATE: Following further communication with the National Weather Service, San Angelo ISD campuses and offices will be CLOSED tomorrow, January 11, 2021 for the safety of our students and staff.
Icy road conditions are anticipated on bridges and overpasses from 7:30 am to 9:30 am which will cause dangerous driving situations for our buses, families and young drivers.
A cancellation tonight also provides our families additional time to secure childcare for tomorrow if needed.
Students and staff will return to campuses and offices on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. There will be no expectation of online attendance for Virtual Academy students and in-person students on Monday, January 11, 2021.
SAISD has been in constant contact with the National Weather Service, TxDOT, the Department of Public Safety and other local agencies.
It is important to note that decisions made regarding school delays and/or closures are not based on temperature, but icy road conditions that make travel dangerous.
