San Angelo ISD is committed to engaging all students in a relevant and inspiring education that produces future-ready graduates, and as a part of that commitment brings innovation to our students and classrooms through integration of new technology into student learning experiences. The District was recently applauded as an example of success for our implementation of zSpace technology, combined augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) solutions for immersive, interactive, multi-sensory learning experiences, within our SAISD curriculum and instruction. ZSpace representative Kevin Dougherty identified SAISD as a stand out of the approximately 100 school districts zSpace works with, pointing out how the District created a vision for what zSpace would look like in SAISD and for successful implementation.
San Angelo ISD administrators, including principals and our Superintendent Dr. Carl Dethloff, completed the final Summer Book Patrol deliveries of this summer break to deserving students to foster a lifetime love of literacy. Over the last 7 weeks, the District has delivered over 250 books to students from all 17 of our elementary campuses.
San Angelo ISD will host an optional, free COVID-19 vaccine clinic in partnership with Shannon Medical Center this Friday, July 30, 2021, available for any interested SAISD employee and SAISD students 12 years of age and older at our PAYS School campus located at 1820 Knickerbocker Road. SAISD is offering the vaccine clinic based on recent data for COVID-19 in the San Angelo community, and to provide individuals who choose to be vaccinated an opportunity.
During the July Regular Board Meeting, San Angelo ISD’s Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Jana Rueter, unveiled a digital learning environment plan to distribute iPads to every teacher and student.
Over 750 San Angelo ISD educators came together for three days of professional learning during our fifth annual Learning Palooza from July 20 to July 22, 2021. During the conference, teachers and staff had the opportunity to attend 237 sessions to discuss best practices in instruction, content, classroom management, future-ready learners, technology and so much more to help our educators prepare for the upcoming school year.
